Back in 1995 when I started Blue Cat Design, it was before web design courses or even web design books. Web design, back then, was a process of learning how to hand-code HTML from scratch – and modify PERL – to make web pages.
It was a good basis for what I do today because I had to learn code and I became very comfortable with getting my hands dirty under the hood of websites. That knowledge – and my unquenchable thirst for continued learning over the ensuing 18 years – gives me a great advantage when it comes to SEO tasks. I know all the code tweaks to make, and how to make them. It means I know exactly how to fix under-performing sites – AND, it means I know how to create new websites that are optimized to work from the start.
I get a great satisfaction from solving code problems and getting things to work.
With the advent of WYSIWYG layout software and CMS (Content Management Systems), most newer web design designers have never had to learn about the source code that lurks behind web pages.
Today, most sites are built on template-driven platforms (like WordPress, Joomla or Drupal) and it’s not that hard to enter content into the template forms and get a respectable-looking site up online.
What is more difficult though, is to create the site in an optimized way so that it performs well in search engines – and doesn’t get lost after it goes live on the internet. And that’s where I come in because building optimized, search engine friendly websites is my specialty.
Optimizing a website correctly from the start, gives it a head start towards high rankings. Why take a chance – or waste time later when your site needs SEO repair – contact me to find out about doing it right from the start.
